Research into human flourishing

Rigor in service of flourishing

The Institute of OM Foundation is a California-registered 501(c)(3) formed in 2018. It operates with an independent board of directors and has no operational overlap with the for-profit entities in this garden.

IOMF funds studies at public and private research institutions — the majority of them universities — on the practice of Orgasmic Meditation and on other modalities that may advance human flourishing. In some cases, IOMF conducts its own research directly or commissions publication of white papers.

Areas of research and inquiry

External Funding

University & Institutional Studies

IOMF funds studies at public and private research institutions, primarily universities, investigating the physiological, psychological, and social dimensions of Orgasmic Meditation practice.

Direct Research

In-House Research Programs

In some cases, IOMF conducts its own research programs — designing studies, gathering data, and producing findings on modalities of human flourishing beyond OM.

Publication

White Papers & Commissioned Work

IOMF commissions the publication of white papers, synthesizing research findings into accessible documents for scholars, policymakers, and the public.

Broader Vision

Other Modalities of Human Flourishing

The foundation's mandate extends beyond OM to any modality that credibly advances human flourishing — understood as the fullest expression of human potential in body, mind, and relationship.

The question at the center of every study is the same: what conditions allow a human being to fully flourish? The answers, when we find them, belong to everyone.

How the foundation is governed

The Institute of OM Foundation is governed by an independent board of directors. It operates entirely separately from OneTaste Inc, Institute of OM LLC, and any other for-profit entity in this garden. The foundation's research agenda is set by its board and scientific advisors — not by any commercial interest.

Funding for IOMF comes from charitable contributions and grants. The foundation's 501(c)(3) status as a California public charity means its finances are subject to public disclosure through its annual Form 990 filings with the IRS.
