The Orgasm State

Everyone is familiar with Orgasm 1.0 - the brief moments of climax and release, signified by ejaculation in men and contractions of the vaginal muscles in women. Orgasm 1.0 is linear, progressive, and has a clear finale, followed by a drop in energy. You could say it builds a lot of energy and then spends it all, making you feel depleted afterwards.

This is the orgasm that we are used to. It’s a striving to get to the end goal and it’s achievement oriented. This definition of Orgasm 1.0 has a lot of people think that there is something wrong with them if they can’t reach this sort of climax.

We live in a society where we are constantly striving to achieve and we have somehow put orgasm into this category.

In Orgasmic Meditation, we refer to this experience as "climax." Just one spot on the map of orgasm, and not the ultimate goal.

The truth is there is nothing wrong with you. Every person has access to orgasm, while not everyone can achieve climax under pressure. Have you tried to make someone sneeze? It just doesn’t work.

This Orgasm State, or Orgasm 2.0, is different. It is goalless, intuitive, and dynamic. It flows all over the place with no set direction. It may include climax, or it may not.

In Orgasm 2.0, we learn to listen to what our body wants instead of what we think we “should” want. We let go of our ideas and trust our bodies. Orgasm 2.0 is a practice of gradually learning to tune into our body. As you cultivate the sensitivity of listening to your body, you start to let it lead and guide you in all areas of your life. As a result, you reorient from seeking achievement, to being led by your enjoyment of life.
