Orgasm Meets Attorney: At the Crossroads
by Rachel Doe Nov 5, 2015
She answered my question very matter of factly, then paused and said, "Now let me look at you." We were at a five day retreat near Mt. Shasta and Nicole Daedone was with us at a Members and Intensive dinner.
"Oh," she took a breath, "You're at a crossroad. And you can go one of two ways, but whichever you choose, I want you to do it 100%"
I already knew what the corporate path looked like. Some law firm partners loved their work and loved the law, but it was almost always at the detriment of their personal relationships. Most of them seemed to be in it for the prestige and its trappings. I myself loved the law, but it hadn't taken me long to realize that the life wasn't for me.
My justification for staying was that I could use my position to bring attention to gender inequality in the workplace. But my coach had already started to close the door on that excuse when she reminded me of the quote: "Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
And that is exactly what OMing had done for me. I had been feeling more vibrant and healthy, and I was starting to feel my desire, or rather, notice the lack of it.
So my reply to Nicole was, "I choose the left handed path, the path of Orgasm."
Within a week of returning to Australia, I was leaving again, quitting my job and packing up my possessions.
The difference between 99% and 100% is not one, but one hundred percent. Having that commitment to desire is what made it possible for me to let it carry me forward into this brave new world.
